Nascar Nothing Like It

For more than half a century NASCAR has captured people’s interest with their swift and unpredictable races. Every year hundreds of people queue up to buy NASCAR TIX. Here is a look at some of the most prominent drivers in the sport who lead NASCAR tickets selling into frenzy over the years.

Richard Petty

The legend is far out ahead of everyone when it comes to race victories, and is tied first for the most championship victories with Dale Earnhardt Sr. Richard was the first driver to win 3 world titles and went on to amass 4 more in a career that lasted 35 years. He ended up with exactly 200 race victories from 1184 races, a record that is likely to stand for many more years to come.

Dale Earnhardt Sr.

Earnhardt is tied with Richard Petty for the most sprint cup wins at 7. His aggressive driving style gave him the nickname ‘the intimidator’ and ‘ironhead’ among many others. One of the biggest NASCAR tickets sellers, Dale won 76 races of the 677 that he drove in a career spanning 25 years. Sadly, the champion died on the race track in 2001, aged 49. Many believed he still had many racing years in him and could have gone on to break Petty’s record. Unfortunately, that would never be found out.

David Gene Pearson

Born in South Carolina in’34, David Gene Pearson was the first driver to win 3 Winston cup titles. Nicknamed ‘The Silver Fox’, he won many accolades over his 26 year long career including being declared the Rookie of the Year in’60, and winning the career grand slam at NASCAR, a feat achieved by only 8 people until now. Pearson is also remembered for his outstanding clashes with The King Richard Petty which resulted in 63 one-two finishes between the two in a– year period.

Jeff Gordon

He was the first man to surpass the $100 million mark in NASCAR earnings and is the holder of four sprint cup titles (1995,’97,’98 and 2001). Gordon began racing in’93 and needs just three more race victories to climb to third position in the list of most race wins. Another interesting fact is that he is the co-owner of the #48 Hendrick motorsports team in which Jimmie Johnson has won 3 championships for himself.

Jimmie Johnson

The current champion is the sports number 1 pin up boy at present. Yes, at the age of 34 he can still be considered a boy in the sport with years still ahead of him. Johnson was the second driver after Cale Yarborough to win 3 sprint cups on the trot, and looks set for the 4th with five races to go in the current season.

Thousands of people buy NASCAR tickets every season to watch the live action. The best part is that the 36 races allow people ample of time to get their hands on their precious NASCAR Tix, still many fans miss out. But this is here to stay, as its popularity has hardly waned in the 60 years. There are many more enthralling seasons to come and there are always going to be fans around to watch boys turn to men, and drivers turn into legends with passing years.
