Playing Beach Baseball

Baseball is one of the most popular sports in the world but there are very few people who have heard of beach baseball before.  There are actually not that many differences between beach and regular baseball.  It's an intense and quite challenging game that requires focus and skill, and while regular games are played on a baseball diamond there are now also beach baseball games.  The most major difference is that a beach baseball game is played on the beach rather than on a baseball diamond but other than that the rules and regulations all remain the same.

For one thing it's nice to get a change, because we're all so used to having to play this American pastime on a baseball diamond in the park.  Rather than having to head off to the usual baseball diamond, you can get your team packed up and head off to the beach.  It's definitely a lot more relaxing and because there's a larger space you could have more onlookers to the games as well.  The rules are all the same between games played on the beach and regular games on a baseball diamond.

All the same equipment is needed for these games, and it's important to make sure that your team is fully equipped.  They are going to need gloves which help keep their hands from getting injured, especially while catching fly balls and fastballs.  When you're throwing and hitting at balls for hours it can certainly wear down on the hands and even cause some blisters.  You will need balls and bats as well.

Different players may prefer to use specially sized bats, which is fine as long as they're no more than 42 inches long and 2 ¾ inches in diameter which is the maximum size allowed for regulation baseball bats.  This is the most basic equipment that will be neded for your game but equipment has changed a lot over the years and there are a lot of extras that can be included as well.  There is extra safety gear that you could include as well such as padding for the knees or elbows.  Padding on the elbow for example can help a pitcher who's stuck pitching thousands of balls in a game.

Beach baseball is not a new idea but one that people are just starting to really get into.  Especially for younger players it's gread to give them a change and let them have fun playing on the beach.  Sometimes it's excellent to get a change.  Beach baseball can be a lot of fun during the summer and is definitely worth trying out.
